Adventure in Colorado
Widows In the Wild : Colorado
September 18 - 22, 2026
Join Tiffany Rampey and Jamie LaShomb for a women’s long-weekend mountain adventure in the Colorado Rockies!
This trip is designed for women who consider themselves widowed (no marriage required) and are looking for a trip based in the United States where they can experience joy, adventure, and connection with a group of fellow widows. The trip will included mountain adventures and activities, hot springs, hikes, and a full-day whitewater rafting trip. We will share one beautiful home, nestled just outside of Winter Park, and are sure to experience strong connection time together!
Traveling alongside other women who understand loss — without needing to explain it — creates an ease that allows you to be fully present, curious, and open to joy. This trip allows for you to make some time for yourself amidst the beauty of the Rockies, while creating connections that will last far beyond the weekend that we have together!

We will provide pickups at the airport or at Union Station in downtown Denver, then all travel together to our house in Fraser, just outside of Winter Park, Colorado. We will enjoy a welcome dinner together as a group.
Our first full day will include adventures in the resort town of Winter Park including bike rides or a Gondola ride, Alpine Sliding, and leisure time in town. We will then travel to a nearby hot springs for time for relaxation and connection.
Whitewater Rafting Day

Widows in the Wild Co-Host
Jamie became a widow at the age of 35, when her husband Bill died in a tragic accident. She was left to parent her boys, ages 6 and 9, on her own. We absolutely love the spirit of this question, but in order to maintain the spirit of traveling with others who intimately understand your reality, we keep these trips limited to only widows.
-
The hike is considered an intermediate level hike. Which means it will be between 5 and 8 miles and have a moderate level of altitude climb.
-
In September the Colorado River is very calm. Class I and II rapids means that there will be some bumps and little dips, but you will feel completely safe the whole time. Think of this experience more like a beautiful float, versus an adventure ride.
-
Except for one lunch on your own, yes! Everything is included. That includes meals, activities, passes, and transportation to and from the airport.
