About Us
For us, travel is a lifeline — a reminder that even in the wreckage of grief, beauty still exists.
We know what it’s like to feel lost, misunderstood, and alone — to watch the world keep spinning while ours has come to a halt. But you don’t have to walk this path alone.
At Widows in the Wild, we take care of each other — whether we’re climbing a mountain trail or navigating the emotional peaks and valleys of loss. We’re a community that holds space for the tears, the pain, and the joy.
These trips aren’t about moving on from our grief — they’re about learning to carry it, while also making space for wonder, connection, and light.
If you’re craving adventure, community, and a little more joy in your life, we’d love to welcome you on a future Widows in the Wild trip.
Tiffany Rampey
Tiffany, whose late husband Mike died suddenly in May of 2020, is an avid traveler and seeker of joy. She and her two kids completed a trip around the world in 2023/24, visiting 9 different countries and world-schooling along the way.
Tiffany is passionate about helping others find ways to add more travel to their lives. She gives tips and encouragement to single or solo parents looking to travel with their kids on her Instagram page @rebuilding.joy. She also shares her passion for using points and miles to travel on a budget and conducts consultations to help others do the same! Tiffany started leading the Widows in the Wild trips as a way to bring others together who had lost their partner, and were eager to get back out to see the world!
Finally, Tiffany is the host and creator of Dating After Death, a podcast about the complicated journey of trying to find love again after losing your forever person.
Dana Frost
Traveling the world was a passion Dana shared with her late husband, Brad and one that she continues in his absence. She recently checked off her 7th continent with a life-changing trip to Antarctica. Despite her introverted nature, Dana loves to go deep - whether around a bonfire or a kitchen table - and has been facilitating retreats since 2018.
Dana is the founder of the Forced Joy Project, an organization that provides support, connection, and resources to help others navigate the complexities of grief. For those who can’t travel, she hosts the online community, Forced Joy Club and writes about grief on her Substack, I’m Fine (& Other Lies). She also is the creator of Book of Stories, a custom memorial book that helps preserve the memories of loved ones.
When Dana’s not forcing joy, she’s hiking with her pup or taking year-round daily dips in Lake Michigan. She is a big believer in sharing our stories - of both grief and joy - and an even bigger believer in kitchen dance parties. You can follow her story @forcedjoyproject.
